Product Description

Stainless steel pipe is a hollow steel pipe that is not easy to rust. Stainless steel pipe is a kind of hollow long cylindrical steel. Its scope of application is used as a pipeline for conveying fluids. It is mainly widely used in industrial transmission pipelines such as petroleum, chemical industry, medical treatment, food, light industry, mechanical instrumentation, etc., as well as mechanical structural components. 

According to the manufacturing method, it is divided into two types: hot rolling and cold rolling,the thickness range is 0.3-80 mm. Cold rolling is a steel coil obtained by further thinning the No. 1 steel sheet to a target thickness under room temperature conditions. Compared with hot-rolled steel, cold-rolled steel has a more precise thickness, smooth and beautiful surface, and also has various superior mechanical properties, especially in terms of processability. Because cold-rolled raw coils are relatively brittle and hard, and are not suitable for processing, cold-rolled steel sheets are usually required to be annealed, pickled and surface smoothed before being delivered to customers.


 

 

In terms of hardness, 409 stainless steel belongs to the Rockwell B80-85 range. This means it has good wear resistance, making it ideal for parts subject to high friction.

Another physical property worth noting is its thermal conductivity. The thermal conductivity of 409 stainless steel ranges from about 15 W/m·K at room temperature to about 25 W/m·K at elevated temperatures. This makes it a suitable choice for applications where heat dissipation is critical.

In addition, the alloy has excellent magnetic properties due to its ferrite structure. It has a strong magnetic attraction and can be easily magnetized or demagnetized depending on the needs of the specific application.

When considering the coefficient of expansion (COE), which refers to how much a material expands or contracts with changes in temperature, 409 stainless steel has a relatively low COE compared to other steel grades, such as austenitic steels.

AISI410 stainless steel is one of the most commonly used martensitic stainless steels. It contains about 12% chromium and therefore has moderate corrosion resistance. Unlike austenites such as AISI304 and AISI316, grade 410 martensite is magnetic and can be hardened by heat treatment like carbon and low alloy steels. SS410 has good mechanical properties such as tensile strength, creep and fatigue strength, and is mainly used in steam turbines, jet engines and gas turbines.
